Have you ever run across a nifty cooking gadget and immediately thought to yourself ‘Now, why in the heck didn’t I think of that?’

I admit to doing that very thing… most recently when I discovered seasoned skewers. These skewers are the brain child of Callison’s Fine Foods, who believe in the importance of seasoning food from the inside, out.

They are available in six yummy flavors. You can choose from Mexican Fiesta, Honey Bourbon, Indian Mango Curry, Citrus Rosemary, Garlic Herb and Thai Coconut Lime.

You can use these flavored skewers to jazz up chicken, beef, seafood, pork, vegetables and a wide variety of other food items, as well.

Using the seasoned skewers is simple. Skewer your food, as you usually would. Let skewers sit for 10 -15 minutes. This will allow flavors to permeate into the food. As your food cooks, it will continue to soak up additional flavor.

These nifty skewers work on the grill, in the oven, on the stovetop and even over a campfire.

If you can’t find them locally, they can be purchased from a variety of online merchants. I suggest FamousFoods.com, where you can conveniently purchase the seasoned skewers and a whole lot more.

I have always used fresh rosemary as a skewer for chicken on the grill…then again, my rosemary grew from a 6 inch pot into a 4 foot by 4 foot Chernobyl-like bush after I got it in a tree shape one Christmas. These look interesting…I am disappointed that I did not think of it…
