World Famous Barbecue

May 15, 2007 |

My husband can do wonders with a barbeque grill. I’m not saying he’s a ‘grilling junkie’, but he has been known to fire up the grill, in the dead of our freezing Michigan winters.

He loves everything that has to do with grilling… cookbooks, sauces, utensils… you name it, he wants it! He’s always asking me to look up barbeque-related sites, on the Internet.

Imagine my delight when I recently stumbled across World Famous Barbeque. It is a nifty search engine, for barbecue lovers.

Currently, there are almost 300 links listed, in 183 categories. This includes everything from barbecue sauces to cooking tools, to barbecue-related stores, to barbecue restaurants… for those times your hubby doesn’t want to cook.

There is a link on the site that allows you to suggest a barbecue-related vendor that you think others would enjoy. I encourage you to add one or two of your favorite websites. Doing so will only make this search engine even better.

For someone like me, who works a lot of hours, it is a real time saver to utilize these topical search engines. Honestly, I wish I had the savvy to create a couple of my own… but for now I guess I better stick to blogging.

Barbeque is very yummy. Especially pork ones at the Kentucky Derby!

Hey Merry, I have a recipe for your other half!

It is a quick and easy “crowd pleaser” to throw out on the grill.

Pick up some plump jalepeno peppers or mild hungarian peppers (if you can’t take the heat)at your favorite market.

Core the peppers, cleaning out the inside of the middle of the pepper. I use a “baby spoon” to scrape the inside, carefully removing all the seeds and white guts of the pepper. Be sure to clean them really good inside. This will remove most of the “heat” from the jalepenos so they won’t be so over bearing. (Also, be very careful not to touch your face or eyes while you are cleaning the peppers and wash your hands just as soon as you are finished).

Once you get the peppers cleaned, carefully stuff the pepper with cream cheese.

After you get the pepper stuffed with the cream cheese, wrap that baby in some bacon, securing the bacon to the pepper with tooth picks. (I always wrap the opening of the pepper with bacon to keep the cream cheese from “oozing” out.)

Throw those bad boys on the grill, allowing the bacon to get crispy golden brown and the pepper to roast, and voile’..

    (Is your mouth watering yet?)

These make a great LOW CARB side dish! My family absolutely loves these.

    Enjoy!

    Jeane,

These sound SO good! I’ve added peppers and cream cheese to my grocery list and plan on trying them, next week. :-)

This is a cool link to a 3 minute clip for a BBQ decor theme for Father’s Day gifts… it was done by a San Diego TV station and it’s got some really cool BBQ inspired items!
