Omelet in a Bag a.k.a The Ziploc Omelet
June 2, 2007 |
If you love omelets as much as I do, I really hope you’ll try the following technique, the next time you have a hankering for eggs. Boiling your omelet in a bag is a fast and easy alternative to frying. Clean-up is a breeze… because there isn’t any!
This is a fun recipe to make with your kids or when you have a large group to feed. It’s also great for camping trips or RV’ers.
First, have each person crack 2-3 large eggs into a quart size freezer bag. (It’s best to use a name brand.) Next, have them add whatever ‘ometlet goodies’ they want to their bag… bacon, cheese, green pepper, ham, sausage, mushrooms, ect. and choice of seasonings.
Have everyone write their name on their bag, with a ‘Sharpie’ marker. Boil 6-8 bags at a time, in a large pot of rapidly boiling water, for 13 minutes.
When omelets are done, you will be surprised at how easily they roll out of the bag… any how YUMMY they really are!
