Bushs Grillin Beans
May 7, 2008 |
I recently received four cans of new Bush’s Grillin Beans, to taste and review. All I can say is… YUM! Go out and buy these beans. You won’t regret it.

It’s no secret that I love baked beans. It is the dish that I make for most family get-togethers. Normally, I buy canned beans and jazz them up. The brand I buy is usually dependent on what’s on sale, at the time.
This isn’t necessarily something I do by choice; it’s more of a necessity. I really have to pinch pennies when I go grocery shopping, these days… just as I know most of us do.
But, after tasting Bush’s Grillin Beans I’m definitely going to splurge, when it comes to the beans that I purchase.
These beans retail for $1.89. The 22 oz. can feeds three to five people. They come in four yummy varieties: Steakhouse Recipe, Southern Pit Barbecue, Bourbon and Brown Sugar and Smokehouse Tradition.
All varieties have a very bold flavor. They feature added ingredients such as onions and bell peppers. They can be baked, heated on the grill or stovetop or hopped in the microwave, or a quick snack. All four flavors have been created to complement chicken, steak and pork.
I was actually quite surprised at how much Bush’s Grillin Beans thickened up, just by heating them of on the top of the stove. My husband even commented about it.
I really do like them all, but I think my favorite is the Steakhouse Recipe. They are so flavorful that I could get away with baking them without the added ketchup and brown sugar that I usually use and they would still be delicious.
However, I’ll probably still add extra peppers and onions… as well as bacon. Baked beans just aren’t baked beans without bacon!!
Visit the official Grillin Beans website, for great recipe ideas including: Brown Sugar Pork Ribs, Sweet and Savory Cider Chicken, Ham in Cola and Blackberry Mountain Porterhouse Pork Loin… YUM!
Please feel free to share your favorite baked bean recipe with the rest of us. Do you use a secret ingredient that you are willing to divulge? Maybe you just have a question about making your baked beans even better. If so, please post it here.
